No. This role is strictly for Administrative Monitoring and Patient Outreach. They do not diagnose, provide medical advice, or act as licensed RNs/LPNs. Their job is to act as the first line of defense: ensuring devices are transmitting, calling patients who forget to take readings, logging time, and escalating out-of-bounds vitals to your actual clinical staff based on a strict matrix you provide.

CPT 99457 requires 20 minutes of interactive communication with the patient/caregiver during the month. Our VAs can perform the administrative outreach (calling to troubleshoot the device or remind them to test) which counts towards that time, provided it is conducted under the "general supervision" of the billing practitioner (per CMS rules). Your PM ensures all time is meticulously logged in the EMR.

Security is paramount. All our VAs undergo strict vetting, HIPAA awareness training, and sign comprehensive Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs). Your Project Manager will establish secure remote workflows—such as requiring the VA to operate via a secure VPN or Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)—ensuring no sensitive medical data or Patient Health Information (PHI) is ever stored locally on the VA's machine.
